STUDIO POTTERY PROGRAM
Come join us at the studio and continue your creative journey with clay in 2024 (this program replaces our Intermediate Wheel & Advanced Throwing Courses)
Whether you are a maker developing your skills for your own pleasure or you are looking to grow your practice to a professional level, you will find the Studio Pottery Program is an opportunity to have access to a fully resourced and peaceful space to be creative in.
Our aim is to contribute to the growth and success of aspiring potters within a studio environment, through personalised mentoring, hands-on experience and professional development
Features:
- Develop your confidence and progress your wheel throwing and hand building skills, as you learn how to transform your ideas into your own unique creations with lots of demonstrations and guidance
- We will co-ordinate a learning pathway with you, exploring the aesthetic and technical elements of studio pottery
- Join the Studio Pottery Program anytime, depending on availability (spaces are limited)
- You can book into the program for a 6 week consecutive term, or longer, either on –
Mondays 6-9 or Thursdays 9.30-12.30 or Saturdays 9.30-12.30
- If you would like to create more than once a week, additional sessions are available
- We also run artist studio tours and gallery visits, all aimed at developing your practice
Skill level:
- Previous completion of two ART & DESIGN STUDIO Beginner Wheel Throwing courses is a requirement
- If you would like to join and have completed Beginners courses elsewhere please contact us
- The program is suitable for makers who would like to develop their skills and expand their knowledge of studio pottery
- Additionally you will receive a discount to attend our scheduled workshops and master classes, topics include; glazes, kilns and firing techniques, advanced wheel throwing, hand building, mould making and slip casting
Cost:
- Studio Pottery Program – $240 for a 6 consecutive week term of 3 hour sessions on the same day each week, for a longer consecutive week term add $40 for each additional week
- Includes demonstrations, mentoring, use of studio equipment, clay and glazes and storage space for your pottery projects
- Up to 3 kg of fired glazed pieces is included in each 6 week term. A charge of $10 per kg applies to any additional fired glazed pieces you make beyond this
- Additional self directed sessions are available during the week – $15 per session. Please enquire for days and times
